Stilbite is the name of a series of tectosilicate minerals of the zeolite group and is found in most of the world's important zeolite deposits. Stilbite is named for the Greek word stilbein, which means "to glitter", in reference to the luster of this mineral which is pearly on cleavage surfaces. Single crystals are tabular and flattened, crystals will usually be in distinct and unique "bow tie" formations.
Specimen roughly measures 3 inches tall by 2 inches wide at base.
