Where are you located?
We are located at 537 Main Street, Blowing Rock, NC, and our Mailing address is P.O. Box 584, Blowing Rock, NC 28605

What are your store hours?
Regular hours are Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm, Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. If we have to adjust our hours due to weather or an emergency, we will update them on our social media pages and Google.

Do you have parking?
Yes! One of the main selling points of our building was our own parking lot. 

​

Can I shop online?
Absolutely, but we do not have everything on the online store. If you don't see what you're looking for, send us a message, and we can let you know what we have in stock.

Do you make custom jewelry?

Yes! We love making custom jewelry. Whether you're starting with a loose gemstone, an heirloom stone, or just an idea, we can help design that perfect piece.

Can you use my own gemstone?

Sure! We will need to inspect your gemstone to determine if it's suitable for jewelry before beginning your custom design. 

​

What metals do you offer?

We offer Sterling Silver and 10K & 14K White, Yellow, and Rose Gold. Platinum can be special ordered.

Do you sell loose gemstones?

Yes! We have a large selection of natural and lab-grown loose gemstones ranging from affordable collector stones to investment-quality gems. 

 

Are your gemstones natural?

We carry natural and lab-grown gemstones. We clearly label them so you know exactly what you're purchasing.

Lapidary Services

 

Do you cut customer stones?

Yes! We love cutting customers' stones into beautiful finished gemstones.

​

Can every stone be cut?

Unfortunately, no. Some materials may contain fractures, inclusions, or other characteristics that make them unsuitable for cutting. We'll look at the stones and discuss what can be done with each piece. 

​

How long does gemstone cutting take?

The usual timeline is 6-8 weeks. During peak season, the turnaround time is usually 10-12 weeks, but can be longer depending on how many orders we have in line.  

​

Is gemstone cutting guaranteed?

Because every stone is different, we cannot guarantee the final size, weight, color, or appearance. Natural materials often contain hidden features that are only revealed during cutting. We do guarantee that we will get the best finished gemstone out of your stone. 

​

Are gemstone cutting services refundable?

Yes and No. Lapidary services are non-refundable because you are paying for the labor and expertise involved in cutting your material. If your stone breaks during the cutting process, we will either issue a refund or we can cut another stone.

Minerals & Fossils

Are your fossils real?

We carry both authentic fossils and educational replicas. Each is clearly labeled. 

​

Are your crystals and minerals natural?

Most are natural, but some minerals or crystals have been enhanced, dyed, stabilized, or lab-grown, and those items are labeled accordingly.

Do you sell meteorites?

Yes, we carry authentic meteorites with certificates. 

Appraisals

 

Do you offer jewelry appraisals?

Yes. Our pricing: Jewelry Appraisals — $75 and up. Loose Gemstone Appraisals — $50 - $150

Events

 

Do you host gemstone cutting demonstrations?

Yes, we host live gemstone cutting demonstrations once a month where you can watch and ask questions while a rough stone is transformed into a finished gemstone.

Do you host rock hound tours?

Yes, we have guided trips to collecting locations throughout North Carolina and the surrounding states.

Permanent Jewelry

What is permanent jewelry?

Permanent jewelry is a custom-fit chain that is welded together without a traditional clasp. We carry sterling silver, gold-filled, and stainless steel. 

​

Can permanent jewelry be removed?

Yes. It can be removed and often rewelded later. It is also made to break with 25 pounds of pressure. 

​
